Visual Language & Communication

Being a designer, I really appreciate good design...and simple, effective visual communication.

Signage and more specifically, symbols are quite complex to design. It has to communicate clearly, effectively and instantly (if its good that is!) So thats why I like this symbol.

Made me laugh, but I knew exactly what would go on if I stepped beyong the 12 foot barred perimeter!! I think I might make a T-Shirt out of it! Anyone else got any crazy warning symbols or signs?

I thought 'Mr Lederhosen' had one over at his blog from Super Golf...I'll get him to upload it.

Check these out!!! Choc full of carbohydrate goodness, BreadTalk creates some amazing savoury and sweet 'bread' products.

Everything from donuts to the classic loaf.

But then they go mad and create theme breads; like this one...the football tribute, with coffee and raisins to 'give you that kick for the 3am World Cup starts'!!! Love it!

Also, The Chilli and Hairy Crab bread crabs...they look like em too!!!!!
Yep...chock full of chicken, crab, and other bits and bobs they are delightful...seriously, takes that old 'Pie in a scotch roll' to a WHOLE new level!

Automated Towel anyone?

So, Asia tends to innovate. Innovation leads to automation, but this is mad.

Not only are the toilet flushes automated...and for my fat ass, automate a bit tooo quick...whoooosh....but get this.

Automated paper towel dispensers! WTF?!?

Wave your hand in front and zzzzzzzzzz.click....paper appears. Tug slightly and the light goes green.....another wave and zzzzzz.click....u get the idea!
Fab! Spent 5 minutes tryin to break it!!!!
Wave, wave pull, wave....ah! geek stuff!
Got a few sly grins from people who thought I was plain crazy but eh! Round Eye...can can lah!

The Diving Winker

So as you all know, my least favourite footballer is the Portugese winger, Cristiano Ronaldo. So when I saw this video I absolutely lost it!!! Great stuff Mother - one of the worlds best and most creative advertising agencies. Great stuff.
